Default Simple on/off relay circuit (no soft start) with low voltage switch?

Hello,

Has anyone seen a simple on/off relay circuit for an SMPS without soft start?

I would like to have a low voltage Anti Vandal type momentary type switch that when pushed in for a few seconds lights up and turns the amp on and then when pushed again for a few seconds goes off and turns the amp off.

Anyone seen such a circuit?

Preferably a board I can just buy.

Looking around the webs, I didn't find anything suitable.

Thank you,

David.

You are describing a "Latch"...a logic switch, whereby a momentary initial application of power feeds back upon itself & keeps the switch "on".

Maybe it's worth twenty minutes of your time to look at a full and complete circuit design that has worked for a large number of diyAudio members

PCB: low voltage On-Off switch drives AC mains relay \ includes soft start .. H9KPXG

and then ask yourself: when I delete all of the "soft start" circuitry, am I happy with what remains?

This does what you want, but there is no delay. It's instant on off.

Maybe you can hack it?

I used this one in my Aleph J build several years back.

The ε24 power switch driver circuit

I used the separate transformer board, as well.

The easiest way is probably to use a tiny microprocessor, a few lines of code is all that's needed. It could be done with 7400 series chips. Two timers and two latches, maybe some additional switch debounce circuitry as well.

i Still have spare boards left from my last build, this circuit is based on APEX on/off switch design. PM if interested.:Do I really need a relay for on-off switch?
