MOFO power transformer psu

Please bear with me, i just want to get it right what you are trying to tell me.
So if i custom wind a choke for this project, which one below is a better option?

A) All "E" iron laminates on one side, and all "I" iron laminates on the other, thus having a small air gap along the joining potion.
B) Both "E" and "I" iron laminates interlace each other alternately, no air gaps.

A or B ? is more preferred for Mofo?

Those are Hitachi "Z" plates from the 80's. Each piece is paper thin.

what is the size of your core and thickness of lamination sheet?
It seems like 0.35mm to me.
and Im trying to make my own chokes,. but but having a lowest grade core a 1 1/4 center leg, Idk what will be the result.

My lamination dimension is 115x95x0.35mm.
I probably will wind for DC current of 3.5A

I read about MOT's being used.
Is some DC resistance useful, or should it be minimal?
After all, it is not really difficult to separate a MOT and rewind it. With thicker wire.

^ It should be minimal, 110V version of MOT's have a lower DCR than 220V version of the other countries.

Meanie, Thanks for the info,. I would like to ask, if you have some guide to build a chokes?
it's a pity that I don't know how to measure the DC current of chokes using the length of stacks.

Mhavskie, There is a formula for winding, the number of turns will determine the inductance, the size and length of copper wire used will determine the DCR and current.

When i find time to start winding mine, i will share some results here.

MOT's are run with higher flux density so they get hot after about 20 minutes...

to use them will require primary winding rewinds as well..

can you post pictures of your core that you intend to use? what is the core area, magnetic path length?

It is still the same EI laminates, but stack up to 5cm high.
That is from a standard plastic bobbin.
Not sure if there are any higher bobbin sizes.
I will post some pictures once I got the bobbin and coil on hand.
