need a little help with identification PT

ok i just got another PT today and i need some help Identifying it. i was told that it is a 700v secondary (350-0-350), 6.3VCT and 5V. ok with that said the numbers on it are TP2L and underneath that there is 549649. what i need help with is manufacturer and actual specs including mA of secondary, 6.3, and 5v reason is because i am very dubious it is in fact 700v secondary ( i mean this thing is tiny weighing it at a hair over 4lbs.).

so basically i would appreciate anyone who knows the specs as far as votages and mA ratings to post and let me know.

i am actually starting to have second thoughts about DIYing an amp seeing as i cannot find a salvage PT that will work for what i am wanting to do ( GZ34 rect tube, 2x el34, power, and 3x 12ax7) and it would just be a better deal to buy a kit for 700 to 800 and get everything at once than by the pt, ot, choke and then all the other things but i am trying to build with and on a salvage style budget ( i live on va disability so my budget for fun and play every month is extremely limited).

How about a Dynaco transformer? There are lots of used amps around. Here's a link to new transformers.
Stereo: PA060 POWER XFMR
Mono: PA-135 POWER XFMR

you missed the part in my thread where i said i live on VA disability, and after bills, and necessities i have limited funds which i have to budget so i am prepared for anythign that might come up that i missed and therefore cant afford to spend 100 on a transformer ( hence using salvage)

i would like to know why whenver i post a question regarding info on a transformer and then specify what my application comments come up as to buying a new one? if i could afford to buy new i would have and wouldnt have signed up the the forum/forums in the first place.

The links were more for information. You can sometimes find used amplifiers at garage sales etc. for just a few dollars.
Sometimes on Craigslist also. What part of the country are you in?

im in oklahoma and i have cleared out the local second hand and antique stores of salvageble stuff, all they have left in the antique stores are fully restored tube radios which carry extremely high price tags and to nice to rip apart. i have also cleared out all the reasonably priced and free tube organs in teh area as well LOL.

total cost out of pocket trying to get transformers for my project ( and still at square one i might add) roughly $50 ( including gas and some for my time picking the stuff up).

i have looked on fleabay, as well as used tube amp and radio forums and found nothing so far that i can use ( lots of stuff for fender style builds with 6v6 but nothing for el34 marshall style builds).

currently i am also looking to maybe trade all the PT's, 2 chokes, and what looks like 2 OT for the pt, ot and choke i need for a marshall style build ( i was figuring and hoping that someone might have exactly what i need in thier parts stash and may be interested in the items i have but so far no luck on that front either).

i did find a fender style tranny that speced real close size wise to the one i referenced in the OP but it was a hair larger and secondary was speced at less V than what i was told this one is LOL.

basicaly i am looking to see if the one in this thread i am seeking info on has at least 690v @ 150mA 6.3vct @ 5A, and 5v @ 3A in theory i shoul dbe able to use it even though it is smaller than one normally used on a marshall style amp since it would have the specs needed ( unless the smaller size of it would be a problem.

yep that is the TX i bought off of fleabay and i just cant find any info on the mA of the HVct, 6.3vct, and 5v of the transformer though. also i find it hard to believe that a PT this small ( fits in palm of hand and weighs in at a little more than 4lbs) has a 700v secondary. with that said however the original pt i looked at ( from teh maker of a DIY kit had specs of 690Vct @150mA, 6.3v @ 5A, and 5v @3A. it is however a little larger than the TP2L ( actual numer on side of tranny) which makes me wonder IF this tranny has similar specs as far as aforementioned v and A wouldnt it work for the application or would the smaller size of the TP2L be a problem?

also anyone have any idea of the A/mA on the secondaries?

in fact this is a link to the PT that fits the schematic and what i need as far as values goes.

https://www.tubedepot.com/products/jtm-45-power-transformer

with that said could the smaller phyiscal size of the TP2l be due to it only having 2 wires primary side instead of 4 wires like on the one in the link?

The size and weight is due the power and current rating.

ok gotcha so chances are making a 45/50 watt amp out of the TP2L isnt going to happen even if the specs are the same, well crap, now i have to add it to the pile of pt, chokes, and ot i need to sell or trade in order to get what i do need. still any idea on the a/mA on the secondaries of the TP2l? i have been searching the net since 3 theis afternoon and i cant find anything on it

I would go by the filament ratings of the tubes they list for it.

ok, thanks

so going off of what was mentioned in the listing which was 2x 6v6GT = 3x 12ax7, + 1x 5y3gt

what would you think the mA of the secondary is, and do you think this tranny would fit my app or would i be better off trying to find a trade or sell off the trannies, chokes, and OT's i have to get something brand new and speced for my needs? if you think i should find a trade, or sell do you know of anyone in the ardmore oklahoma areas or extremely close by :p LOL

ok im guessing i could use this PT to make a 5E3 style amp but i have a question about how to wire this thing up.

ok with that said i know where the black wires connect, the green wires, the green/yellow stripe to ground, the yellow to tube rectifier, the red wires to tube rectifier, but the one i dont know about because of different stories about it is the red/yellow striped wire which i is a center tap based on the 350-0-350 in the fleabayt listing for the PT. so does the red/yellow stripe wire go to ground ( which i have seen in a couple of schematics and been told), OR does it connect somewhere else?
