I contacted them. A few months they will have a 110 version. Also I can buy 110-220 trafo very very cheap, but well, tha tdefeats the whole purpose. Cos transformer a rectifier bridge and a couple caps = traditional power supply. So I am either gonna skip, or wait to have them get the 110 and then look at it again.

Given how much cheaper an SMPS is to build for the same current capability, it's a wonder more high end amps don't use them. Is it because the noise is more irregular and maybe more difficult to reject or that some circuits can't handle the HF hash they produce?

They are not that standardized yet but in a few years they will be as common as conventional ones.

I'm not really up on how the SMPS is able to be more efficient but would it be fair to say most of the benefit is from caps being charged 100x more frequently than with a linear supply or is it because there are fewer passive components to rob power?
