Pensil Pics, lets show 'em!

Yes, it is a badge, T & M logo made in last year.

Below the driver it looks like your company emblem or logo on a plaque. Just curious what it looked like :D

We had a small listening session for listening Pensil 10.2 at Kenneth's place today. My friend, Coleman (left) and Kenneth's friends, Thomas (middle) and Dicky (right) joined the session. We spent 2.5 hours for listening music. Very happy and interesting!

Pensil 10.2 full range speakers without crossover performed balanced and wide sound stage with lots of details. Easy to hear the low frequency of Alpair 10.2 going down to 40Hz when playing back Danse Macabre of Saint-Saens. The performance of Pensil 10.2 is very natural and no distortion on the drivers even at the strong dynamic range. We think that Mark's Alpair 10.2 is one of the modern high quality full range drivers in audiophiled performance at affordable price. Today I was also impressive for the great sound of double-C-core output transformers Kenneth made for 300B single end.

Hi Norman,

This is one of the CDs we listened on the Pensil 10.2.

"Arabesque by Crystal Cable", Track 11) Saint-Saens: Dense Macabre
This is selected from Reference Recording RR-82. The performer is Minnesota Orchestra of the U.S.A. The conductor is Japanese conductor, Eiji Que. I never listened the concert of Minnesota Orchestra, but I listened the concert of New York Philharmonic Orchestra in HK in 2005. The performance of Minnesota Orchetra in this recording was excellent and the same level as the New Yorker. The sound of the orchestra is very transparent and balanced. The sound stage completely came out with proper width and depth. I can hear the strength and power of the music performed by the orchestra and conducted by Eiji. Pensil 10.2 performed the sound so real and like the feeling of concert. Bravo!

Musik007, can you give me some examples of the music you were listening to ?

That room looks to be 8' across also.

Norman

A new pair Pensil 10.2 just finished. It took me 5-6 hours for assembly and installation. Great style and nice looking for the finished Pensil 10.2. I love them. Thanks for the efforts made by Mark on Alpair 10.2 full range emitter and Scott on the design of Pensil 10.2 cabinet and cabinet maker.

The Pensil 10.2 will be displayed and listened in Kenneth's place on this Sunday. Mark, Norio and my friends will join this listening session.

Today we have a small gethering to listen Pensil 10.2 in Kenneth's place. Thanks very much for Kenneth's arrangement. I ever listened Pensil 10.2 for a few minutes in my workshop after installation, but this is my first time to listen Pensil 10.2 seriously. The reason I sent Pensil 10.2 to Kenneth for demo is the transformers Kenneth made are very high quality, especially for his double C-core output transformers. This is our best way to perform Pensil 10.2.

The new Pensil 10.2 cabinet is larger (deeper) than the old Pensil 10 as Alpair 10.2's FO is 36 Hz, much lower than Alpair 10 and Alpair 10.2's Qts increased to 0.35. Pensil 10.2 can perform much more bass than the old model. In today's listening session, although the bass of Pensil 10.2 is not strong at mid volume, I felt the potential of Alpair 10.2's low end extension.

We also listened the sound of Kenneth newly made double C-core output transformers (on the left) on Opera M500 300B single end mono block power amps. They are well-matched with Pensil 10.2. The high range is refined and extended with detail, no harsh, very smooth and silky. The mid and low ranges are rich and balanced.

Kenneth's personal taste is a bit soft and comfortable bass. He blocks the vent of Pensil 10.2 and leaves small gap. Put a thick wood plate on the top of cabinet. Pensil 10.2's Users may not follow in these ways.

I invited Charles who is interested in Mark Audio to listen Pensil 10.2 today. Charles is a experienced audiophile and listened hifi for many years. He was impressive for the performance of Pensil 10.2 and was surprised at the very nice sound on Pensil 10.2 from a 5-inch full range speaker without crossover. It seemed that Charles did not believe what he heard was full range speaker. Good performance on Pensil 10.2
