Hello,
I have a sub with these things. does anyone know where to cross them over at?
single sub or multiples?
running the Pencils full-range or hi-passed?
in the absence of auto-calibrating active EQ/filters, it couldn't hurt to start your experiments around 80-120HZ
Anything over ~70Hz is increasingly directional, so that's about the limit for a single sub.
TBH, it's very much a case of 'how long is a piece of string?' The optimal XO point to a sub. is wherever works best for you in your room, with your particular system, and your personal preferences. There are a huge amount of variables involved, so basically, get thee experimenting.

Thanks guys,
I only have 1 sub and after playing around with the xo settings, 50Hz seems to sound the best to my ears. I can't believe these can go that low. First set of speakers I've ever built and they sound better than anything I've owned. That's not saying much, but I'm still pretty impressed. Wife likes them too, so +1 for me.
