The driver brace helps improve DDR and helps reduce any expression of the cabinets resonances by distributing the driver's mechanical energy across more cabinet material.

For a cabinet resonance to express itself the panel the potential resonance is in has to receive sufficient energy to excite it (all cabinets have resonances, we try to put them in places where they are unlikely to get excited). By distributing the primary energy source across more panels we reduce the energy any one panel sees.

In many of our "woofer" designs you will see this same concept taken further by utilizing push-push pairs where each driver pushing against the other acts to give active vibration cancelation.
