Decware 'Big Betsy' style OB speakers

So my crazy idea (that I doubt you'd implement) is to slice off the top of your Betsy, mount it to the back along the new top edge at 90 degrees - pointing backward, where it used to point upward.

Coarsely depicted below - the grey part is the "folded back" slice off the top of your baffle, the black rectangle is the tweeter.

I'm no artist - I couldnt make the curves the top slice would have - but maybe it conveys the idea.

My solution----

Hi to all.

I remade my baffle - used the old B&G Neo3 frame, refitted it for the AST2560 and mounted it on top. Like the picture show.

Works perfect. No measurement, but my old ears thinks it is beautiful:D

I've mounted them without felt and flange on a section of aluminium angle. Now to do some REW tests, and listening tests.

Thanks for the diagram Joe - now I know exactly what you mean. It's a daring idea..it would get the tweeter as close as possible to the full-range driver....who knows what it would do to the rear reflections. I guess I'd have to suck it and see ;-) . I'm not game to try it at this stage :dunno:
