They were built from scratch rather than from a kit, but the process isn't terribly difficult. I've had no regrets about skipping the complexity of having separate midrange and tweeters. The listening position is pretty stable in front of a computer monitor, and you're listening in the near field, so broad directivity isn't necessary.
There's a link in that post, to a long thread describing the construction of some floorstanding towers I had built previously. The desktop speakers use the same approach but simplified.
