Got one for €300.
The cheapest way to own a RME.
Has 4 ADAT/SPDIF INs and 4x ADAT SPDIF OUTs, processing done on a Spartan6.
Plus a stereo monitor out, based on an AK4452 + TS922 line driver out.
Sounds nice, but with the typical "sterile" sound signature every modern DeltaSigma DAC has.

Replace the TS922 with a decent RR-out opamp, in my case a OPA1656, for headphone only a AD8397 might fit the bill as well. Opamp supply is only +-5V.

If RME keeps up their carefulness for the drivers, you can count on support for the next 5yrs+

Been using my first generation Babyface maybe 7 years or so with Linux, windows and osX without problemos. It has too few channels for coming projects so had to order Digiface USB, a no brainer.

Latest driver for the first generation Babyface timestamped June 2019. Really, this is superb, don't know any other computer related products having such a long support. So, again a big thumb for RME for delivering reliable products!
