Am I alone in ditching Apple as a music platform?
My timeline (music ripping and backup) was Linux for a few years with lame converter. It did the best I have heard on mp3.
Then the Apple itunes m4A files, many iPhones ,osx laptops and mac desktop era.
Now have gone back to windows.
I'm typing this on a Windows phone.
ITunes is on the win 10 for now.
I ditched Apple for lots of reasons, too many to list does not really matter anyhow.
I don't trust windows itunes going forward either.
Just thinking out loud here.....

There is little reason to purchase music now.
I usually listen to youtube videoes.
Youtube pay performers so much for every view.
If you feel the need to download then you can find youtube to mp3 converter sites. Beware some have viruses but some are ok.
I just listen online.

Nigel, have you tried YouZeek for finding YouTube videos? It's quite handy
Thanks for that.
I just have a bad gut feeling about depending on a tcpip stack for hires music.
My library is both mp3 320k and m4a bit stuffed.
I keep buried backups etc. I also have physical cd s of the library but they are gradually failing when I pull one out.
Of course I have rock, alt ,country, folk, classical, blues and so on.
YouTube is a Google company so extreme user tracking there.
Guess you could say I'm striving to be 'off grid' on music.
