Multichannel async USB digital sound card

I have some Meridian DSP speakers, which take a digital input. I plan to use Kodi to drive them in my home theater, but I can't seem to find an 8 or 10 channel digital only sound card, without any DACS. Does such a thing exist, or do I need to hack / build one?

Deano, my speakers are 'legacy' without SpeakerLink, which makes things a bit easier.

MWP, yes they're apparently supported in Linux without drivers.

I've ordered the DIY in HK kit posted above and will try adding custom firmware to drive SPDIF through D type flip flops.
