Moode Audio Player for Raspberry Pi

Thanks Tim, I take it a new image means all my settings etc will need to be redone? i.e other radio stations to add and finding the nas etc

Correct. You can save off your radio station pls files by copying them from /var/lib/mpd/music/RADIO or by connecting to the RADIO samba share.

Bluetooth Headphones

Hi everybody,

I am enjoying Moode audio with a Collybia Mamboplayer (Raspberry PI3 + Mamboberry LS DAC+).

I would like to connect my bluetooth headphones to the player and I looked around the internet to find an easy way to do it, without success. I also looked in the first place at this forum but I did not find any understandable guide.

Could you please direct me anywhere for a solution? Unfortunately I am not a master of programming but I am willing to try if there is a step by step guide anywhere.

Thanks very much in advance

Does any one use WD my book Live as NAS with moode player ?
Do you have an idea will it work if I connect rPi via wire to a router in which is WD my book Live is connected ?
I use a WD My Book Live Duo NAS with ethernet connection to my wireless router/hub. Works with both my Pi B+ and Pi3. The Pi B+ uses WiFi connection and the Pi3 uses ethernet via cable to the router.
Just go to the Configuration Sources page and enter the path to your music files on the WD NAS.

Hi Tim,
I tried to connect to SAMBA using Z: \\moode\SDCARD through my Windows using pi/raspberry credentials but it always return with an error that I am not authorized to log in from this station.

Any advice?

Hello!

Anxiously awaiting the release of 3.5...
What is the quickest way to be notified when it is available?

Thanks!

Hi,

I post the release announcement in this thread first, then link to it in a post on Moode Audio Twitter feed, then post the announcement in CA and TAS forums.

I'm planning to release Moode 3.5 today or tomorrow barring any interruptions.

It is possible to switch on the fly from cabled network (just to transfer files form pc to and from usb disks connected at raspy) to WiFi?
Usb and cabled net shares the same bus on raspberry, so i use WiFi to control it, cabled is the best for transfer's works speed.
The problem is that i switched from wifi to cable and now switching back it's not possible to connect to wifi again.
Both wifi and cabled are in static ip... with differents address

Another question.. is it possible to add a song to an existing playlist?
I founded only the way to add a song to a new one... but maybe it's my fault.

Thanks for your great work Tim... and to all the community for the great level of this forum's thread!!!

From http://moodeaudio.org/docs/readme.txt,
3. Switching from WiFi back to Ethernet
a) plug in Ethernet cable
b) Menu, Configure, Network
c) click RESET network configuration to defaults
d) Menu, Restart, Power off
e) Remove WiFi adapter
f) power on

Another question.. is it possible to add a song to an existing playlist?
I founded only the way to add a song to a new one... but maybe it's my fault.

Find tune, click hamburger menu on the right side, add to playlist.

Answering these so Tim can finish 3.5. Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your answer... i hope too Tim can finish 3.5...

Reset is a reset... so config will revert to new, dhcp for cabled and not configured for wifi, setting operative the hotspot.
i'd like to keep it with my correct address
use cabled net when i transfer files and wifi in all other situations because usb bus work only for dac and external disks

Then, for the second thing, i can't understand how from the menu is it possible to add a song directly in a playlist (p.e. jazz) or in another one (p.e. rock)

Stereo to Mono

This is not a feature request, at least from me, but I thought there might be a way to merge two channels to one in Moode, perhaps changing the MPD configuration or something similar. Any suggestions?

I'm working on an amplifier and want to test one channel, but still hear all the music in the two original tracks through only one speaker. I can do it track by track in Audacity, but it would be nicer if the player could do it with a config file edit and reboot.

Thanks,

Skip

Moode 3.1 audio quality experience

HI All,

Wanted to share 2 experiences with the Moode player on RPI3B with you.

1. Moode with IQAudio DAC+
I use this config in conjunction with 2 active small speakers (Vifa/Peerless units) powered with LM3886 amps. The sound quality and stability are outstanding, especially considering the cost. This is of course also true for the
IQAudio DAC+. Next step will be to integrate the RPI in the speaker enclosure as well. Build your own Sonos, but then better!

2. Moode with Metrum Hex DAC.
This config runs in parallel with my Mac Mini/Audirvana 2+ streamer. The DAC is connected through USB to the Moode streamer. Using The LUMIN app as control. The Hex is a well respected (Dutch!) DAC, at approximately 30x the price of the Moode streamer, serious hifi gear. The combination of Moode streamer and DAC is rock solid and sounds awefull. Streamer and DAC are very much in balance. Admitted, the Audirvana has more config setting to play with the sound. Out of the box Moode comes very very close to the optimal Audirvana settings, i would call it a draw. Build your own Aries.

Thanks Tim for your great work. Will make a donation shortly.;)

Cheers,
Martin
