Daphile - Audiophile Music Server & Player OS

Will try a share with no user name if that works will try popping user name in again but a different one. It’s a shame daphile doesn’t appear to log the server login attempts (even if it was just a check box to enable while trying to set them up as it may offer some valuable clue).

Logging options are available in 2 places..
1) the Daphile Info tab.
2) the Daphile Settings tab>Advanced Media Server Settings>Advanced and use the drop-down menu to access Logging

new modem/router from my ISP > stuck on "waiting for intenet connection" at boot

Daphile was working great until today when the new modem / router combo came from my ISP (Shaw "bluecurve" 1gbit).. Now I get the "waiting for internet connection" message at the start that sits there forever... Tried re-installing both the stable and nightly build, same message. I boot daphile of the USB, and UBuntu off my hardisk, and ubuntu is working ok with the new equipment.

How do I even troubleshoot this, I can't connect to the old url I had for the player, it seems to not be connected as it says.

In some cases I had to disable IPv6 support in linux ntb wifi settings to connect to networks which offered both IPv4 and IPv6. Perhaps this could be the same reason - the new router is likely supporting both IP versions.
I have no idea how to get into a terminal to begin even, it just hangs up on that connecting stage. Also, I do have an ethernet cable (plugged into a usb adapter) that ubuntu picks up, no need to even go to Wifi. (Though that doesn't work either, same screen)

Have you checked your streaming settings in tidal settings actually in Daphile?
You can set your account type in there I think, or set the max bit rate you want to use, my Meridian explorer2 dac works with Tidal MQA via Daphile

Hi, sorry but I don't understand where and what I have to check.

Do you mean that inside the Tidal app, inside Daphile I can chose the account type and the max streaming bitrate?

Thank you

Hi all,

I'm using Daphile and I'm satisfied, but yesterday I have found a strange behavior.
On my NAS I had an MP3 version of an album that I replace with the same album on FLAC format.
When I started the Daphile PC, Daphile show me correctly the FLAC version that I can play, but show me also the MP3 album version.
When I go inside a song of the MP3 version I can't see, obviously, the sampling rate and I can't play the song.
When Daphile starts check the song/album database for new added files, but I have the doubt that in order to eliminate the MP3 album version I need to tell Daphile to rescan all the library and not only changes.
Obviously this is boring if the library is big.

Someone has encountered the same problem?

Many thanks

Are you connected using cable or with wifi ?
If it is using WiFi, try with cable...
It it was with cable, does your subnet changed ? (i.e 192.168.1.xxx to 10.10.z.z) and used fix address instead of dhcp this can explain why you cannot have any internet connection.

Normally when you boot in linux you should have console using function key.. and then try to change values to get dhcp working.(you should be able to connect with same user/password as ssh connection)

Look for a label on your router, it should have an IP address (something like 192.162.x.x) and a password.
Open a browser, and type in the IP address, enter the password (and please change it so your neighbors don't borrow your wifi to download kiddi porn!).

You should get an interface that allows you to monitor and edit your router/switch settings. Hopefully the home page will have a list of all devices that are registered to your router, and which ones are active, inactive, or blocked.

All I can suggest at this point is to experiment with settings until you get it working. It is possible the router is firewalling either Daphile or your cable adapter. Do you have to use a USB adapter?

As for how to open a command window in Windows, simply open any folder and type "cmd" into the address bar with out quotes and you get a command window. you can ssh into a remote computer from there if you want. Or you can do winkey + x and select a command prompt from there.

Hi,

I own and operate a Daphile system I am quite happy with it, I can access Spotify and Youtube as paid services. On Daphile I was able to access Spotify not a problem there, however, I find it very difficult to access Youtube from Daphile, twice without success. Can Daphile access Youtube Music as a streaming website? I suppose not.
For those out there the Sound reproduction from Youtube Music is so much better than Spofify.
