does foobar work with EAC cue files?

You can always try Winamp, though you may not like it after being used to Foobar.

In my experience any complaints about winamp, especially sound, can be remedied simply by using the available plugins. If you want to know which plugins, ask.

In Winamp there is a local files setting to scan certain folders and automatically add audio files in them to the list of what you can play. The folder the file is in becomes it's "Album".

If you arrange the files by album, CD etc. Winamp should make it easy for you and then you can put together playlists.

Probably not the answer you wanted, but maybe it will help.
