Carbon Fibre Heatsinks..!

I've heard Nelson Pass' Aleph amps being described as looking like porcupines.

Now Mr. Pass can REALLY make his amps look like porcupines. :D

If that surface profile is necessary for proper heat conduction, I don't see that these heatsinks would be any more attractive than standard aluminum ones. Pretty cool what they can do with materials these days, though.

The thermal charecteristics are great - better than Al or Cu so they could make very nice heatsinks indeed...

The shape is machined, and can be pretty much anything you like (CNC machining) - but as it's CF, you could have a completely CF case... which would be 'cool' in itself - it could be a clamshell style, or 'tub' style simplifying the overall production process...

Just a though or two..
