And it is a discrete Phono Stage I can say!

Peter, Why didn't you completely seperate the power supply, but only the transformers?

I see that you've split up some capacitors into a lot of smaller ones... Which C's did you split and why those?

I wanted to built it fast. The circuit was so small that I had enough space to fit PS (and it's separate for ea. channel). The caps were ROE 1000u, Sprague Extralytics and Panasonic HFQ 150u. I didn't even built an enclosure for 2 separate transformers.

If I would be doing it again I mount phono module directly on TT output, no interconnects.

Wink my interpretation of Ono

Where do I get the Free Sample brand caps. Those are my favorites! My next favorite are surplus.

I don't mind sharing the layout. The board is only for MM amp with RIAA components outside, done p2p. The same for power supply. If you interested, I'll try to retrive from my other computer the layout. It was more than 3 years when I did it.

Peter,

If it's not too much trouble to find the layout I'd appreciate it, although I think it's probably better to make a design where the riaa components are not off the board.

By the way, was it you who said that the Ono didn't need the output coupling cap if something in the circuit was matched or balanced??

Cheers,
RonS

One reason I didn't include those components on a board was that anybody can use different size parts (I used MIT caps which are bigger than usually), the layout is simpler also. No DC blocking cap, I placed trimmer at differencial pair which adjusts the offset. I'll search today.

Peter,

Can you elaborate on the trimmer on the differential pair? Do you mean that you put a trimmer in between the sources of the two halves of the sk389? If so what value did you use?

Thanks, and thanks for the photo of the layout, although I don't think I can do anything with it

Cheers,
RonS
