Good to know. Not a real VFET, thank you. It's a legendary line of car amps either way- if you're ever in the market. Great for playing dense music with full range drivers at 2-4 ohms

According to "Mr V-Fet" the MTX uses a V-MOSFET which has a pentode characteristic. (I do love the pentode sound)
He further claims in an unclear sentence that Papa's SIT's are actually JFets. I think he may be referencing this article: Nelson Pass

Mosfetz are typically characterized as having pentode-like gain characteristics, SITs as having triode like gain characteristics. This is a good article from Nelson for further reading: https://www.firstwatt.com/pdf/art_sit_intro.pdf

he claims that they claimed falsely, or wrong (and there he's correct)
then he claims wrong , about Papa's claims
in fact, for the record, Pa made distinct classification of various Fets and V-Fets and whatever, in his articles; of course that classification in everyday correspondence here is slightly more loose

Great articles cody! ty! Little bits are starting to sink in with every (re)read.
ZM- I had little doubt the poster was overreaching. As I am one who also overreaches and could recognize myself in the statement. Thanks for the confirmation
I'm starting to understand why SIT is a more useful term than VFET
