This would be a very naive question. I wonder if the exact same active device throughout the amp would make a meaningful improvement in sound quality. I mean that even if the operation point of each active device is different, using the same device can help simplifying the character of sum of the distortion of the amp, while total THD would be higher than the amp with correct devices at correct positions.
