Aleph 3 with 110v->220v transformer

I got the US model of a Pass Aleph 3 amp, and in my country the outlet voltage is 220v.
I got a 110->220 volt transformer. It's rated for 300w, while the Aleph's peak consumption is said to be 250w.
Should I go with a larger transfomer? Are these known to have negative effects on sound?

Thanks in advance.

Hello roee,

You can use 110->220 transformer without any major problems.
This is exactly what I did with some of my devices that I take
with me from US.
However, I would rather use little larger transformer for the
Aleph 3 amplifier.
Around 500 VA or even higher would be much better.

Best regardsn

roee,

Look at the service manual of the Aleph 3 it's 120/240V CA compatible.

You just have to modify the wiring...

Regards.

Alain.
