practically , as is logical and (more important than logic ) shown by Papa with Real McCay XA25 - one can go with lower Iq and still having benefits of square law transfer mechanismus ....... in other words - still being superlative to similar (but constipated) stage which is having greater Iq
anyway , I decided still to have greater Iq than necessary ... to keep it hot , to err on safe side and to be compensated for all fears and moments of insecurity in my childhood
(even if those are mostly related to me being on bicycle , reckless , with enough cars around to scare their drivers)
yeah - keep it up to 80W of heat per side , and you're good with 4U/400 ; irrelevant which amp is in case (literally) , with that level of heat - use Babysitter during summer months , just to feel better thinking of 10C cooler caps inside, then without it
have handy tapping tool (and adequate drill) for 9/64 (?) bolts (0.14" is hole in mosfet case , check bolt sizes on on your side of pond) - you'll need at least 2 holes tapped (yes , at approx. 150mm distance , so you can drill through holes between htsnk fins , lesser risk than dealing with blind holes ) ; things don't need to be too easy , some sweat and fear must be involved in every stage of building ..... and I don't like that UMS, just because I remember about it only too late ...... and I like Papa's pcb format
invest in stainless steel bolts and washers and split washers , ( also nuts if used) for mosfets - only that way you're getting guaranteed mech. characteristics of bolts and you can be sure that you can tighten them properly
that's it for tonight ......

just edited missing IRFP9240 in previous post
one pair per channel , same as original M2
need to check ..... isn't schematic still in post#2 ?
How do, if at all the Toshiba output mosfets many use in regular M2 work in this unconstipated version? Have a few sets of those...

No, don't want mildly...full on beserkness here pleasedidn't tried them and not intend to
maybe 2SJ201/2SK1530 , having xconductance of 5S , which is comparable to IRFPs almost 7S
don't want to go in all that trouble , resulting in Mildly Berserked M2

Russell , where is possible to see porn of your spks ?
Which ones? I'm in Nashville (hee haw) but can send around 26th?
If you mean E'waves, they are in Audikarma Econowave thread, pair #4. Went through several iterations with 4507 box...2225H in beginning, classic cheap compression driver and JBL wave guide, then same with Charge coupled crossover, then B&C compression driver and Zilches "deluxe" crossover, then, as now 2235H woofs same cu ft, tuning and lower crossover as 4430monitors...remained same since.
Only other I would think you interested in would be A7 that dwell in basement? Or all? Soon as home

I am struggling to follow that data sheet for the hall effect sensor...
I think I'm going to have to sim that part of the circuit so I can see how the summed output ends up turning on the opto.
I would have thought the output of the two hall sensors would be equal at any bias point meaning that node at R15,16,17 is (roughly) at zero?
Possibly not scanning at work will help...

not really necessary ..... mostly artifact from Papa's original M2 , where spikes and asymmetry of voltage across source resistors (feeding optocoupler) are more possible to happen , than in this case - fed with Hall chips
hey , be my guest .... do not solder it in circuit ..... it'll be fine

No, just working out if I'm clever enough to stumble along after the mighty ZM.
I'm also trying to work out if I can design a few modules that will allow the hall sensors etc to be 'bolted on' to an existing M2 PCB.
After -that- I've had a hankering to do an X something something and combining the bias and out put with the front end from that would be a loooong interesting project.

as just written in trade thread :
Sadly ( or not ) , no Harris ; not trustworthy purchase possible , so I'll skip
as I said - not so important in source follower arrangement and , besides that , I like some lush Vishays are giving , even if that's really hard to hear
well , old .... fart .... geezer ..... ears .....
