Hello all,
I've acquired a couple of these beasts and both function very well.
However, I think its time to change the power caps and rebias them so I could run a dual mono pair.
The existing caps are old by now, and also have different values between the 2 amps.
Seeing that large value caps are becoming harder and harder to source, I'm going all out with some pretty large caps, and have narrowed it down to a couple of choices which are similar, but cost wise very different.
So, I'm looking at a 74,000 mFd 75VDC/95VDCP which is 5 VDC under the originally rated cap (29,000mFd/80/100VDC).
Or I could pay a lot more and step up to a 76,000mFd/100/125VDC for the higher voltage rating.
The rails run at 60V and I just don't know what safety margin is, uh, safe!
A current limiter (10 Ohm? 5?) is also a part of the plan.
Well, should I sweat the 5V diff? The caps ARE rather pricey.
