Adjust offset? In the Whammy? I haven't at all... everything here is self adjusting, nothing to adjust with. It's just 'knowing' what the offset is.

Some opamps will have some DC offset. I noticed it jumping from ~0.3mv to ~40mv on a couple opamps, though I don't remember exactly which ones. While quite high, it isn't high enough to damage headphones or anything. I would worry about the opamp not performing if it had an offset that high though.

I tested the offset cold with the top off, so not sure about it 'settling'. I would think that the offset would drop a bit when you put a load on it, though.

Hello MEPER,

don't worry! The circuit of the WHAMMY and the circuit of the M2X -amp
have a very similar bias adjustment via an optocoupler (4N35) in the outputstage.
WHAMMY does it fully automatic (most often), the M2X has the trimpot
for adjustment together with the optical bias adjustment (4N35).
It seems to me as there is the same 'father' for both 'kids'.

OK!
The 4N35 I got for M2X are white color…..from Toshiba.....hope they will work!
They called them 4N35 (SHORT)…..I just ignored that and ordered them.
They like optocouplers at PassLab…..or do you mean that Nelson is Waynes Papa?

My malicious tongue never wanted to say something like this!

Wayne is papa from WHAMMY
PAPA is papa from M2
Mark Johnson / 6L6 is papa from M2X.

But you can find one genome in the DNA of all three kids.
That is the only similarity!

Ouch, that is walking on thin ice.

Cheers
Dirk

Thanks Meper Rafa and Rich

Yeah for now I'm still listening as is.. But I'll never leave the cans plugged in if not playing.

The synergy with a vintage Yamaha YH1 and a Whammy with Muses 01 is incredible!

Is there a favored Mogami mic cable for internal Whammy wiring? Mogami PN would be helpful - several types are possible!
