Smile FW B5 DIY! anyone??

hi all,

Thanks to the DIYaudio community and the supreme generosity and contribution from Mr. Pass, I was able to successfully finish a couple of FW amps. At the moment, I successfully built Alelph J, F5, F4, BA-3 preamp, B1 pre. I love all of them. Each has its own unique sound and characters.

A couple days ago, while playing with my audio toys and music, I suddenly had a realization and came up with an idea. What if I could combine all of these unique colors together to create a beautiful canvas of masterpiece.

After a bit of research and study on the web, I stumble upon an idea of 3 ways "Open Baffle" speakers.

Long story short, I want to build a good/solid active crossover as a gateway to split input signal into different segments for HF(tweeter), midrange and LF (Sub), that way, I can use all of my FW amps such as AJ, F4, F5 to drive output signal from the Xover into HF, midrange and LF of the 3way open baffle speakers and create a real explosion of goodness.

Active Crossover/EQ with multiple options to fine tune the crossover frequency response of HF/mid/LF is extremely critical to bring out the optimal performance of the speakers and each different amps

While searching for good active Xover, there are a couple of options and B5 with input Jfet buffer seems to be the best option for me since I already had B1 buffer. The bad news is B5 is already discontinued and I cannot seem to find any schematic online for DIY or even in the B5 manual http://www.firstwatt.com/pdf/prod_b5_man.pdf

Mr. Pass, If you happened to read my post, would you be able to kindly enough share the B5 schematic with me and with the DIY audio community?

To everyone, if any of you happened to possess, build, or have the B5 schematic, BOM, would you be kind enough to shed the light and share it with me ?

Really appreciate your time reading my post and the help if any.
Best regards,
Tom

At this time I am preparing several DIY crossover/eq projects, all using Jfets
for DIY consumption. It is planned to have them in the store, with the first
pieces available in the beginning of the new year.

These will be kits generally including at least the pc boards and Jfets, and
some complete short of chassis, pots, connectors and power supply.

All of them will fit in the Galaxy 2u 230x230 chassis available in the store,
and all of them are designed around 24V external supplies.

A short list:

LXmini biamp

LXmini triamp

Open baffle (B5 type) biamp

12/18 dB biamps

24 dB biamps

12/24 dB triamps

Eq for boxed full range drivers

Bass Eq

This of course is just the crossover/equalizer list. In addition there are power
amp and preamp projects.

I expect that this will be a good year for DIY. In anticipation I have brought
250,000 Jfets into inventory, and enough power transistors to make about
18,000 power amp channels.

I just couldn't resist...

Mr. Pass,

I feel honored to receive reply from you. It is surreal to know what is coming next year. Thank you again for your generosity and contribution to audio DIY community. I can't wait to get my hands on the crossover/EQ kit lists that will be coming up soon next year.

Mr. Pass, I wish you another year with good health and success.

Best regards,
Tom
