B1 with Korg Triode

I used the Danish RS Components:
https://dk.rs-online.com/web/c/halv...dobbelt-triode/?applied-dimensions=4291903116

Divide by 7 to get it in USD. You can see the difference between 1 pcs and 60 pcs.
There is an error in the description (17 vs 20 pin). They are 10 pin devices. Only pins on one side. A strange device!

Shipping is free for two devices or more.

It is probably more practical for US buyers to get them from Pete and may be cheaper also…...or same price. For me it would be more expensive.

For US buyers, RS price is comparable to Ebay Pete Millet after you
deal with shipping an such. It's not like he's gonna get rich.....

:p

He is ready rich of audio design ideas! Superb Ebay DIY stuff shop btw.
From a practical point of view I always need some more semi's, caps, resistors, inductors etc. for complete my build's.
Get components from RS Europe is one trusted source.
Diyers in USA have all interesting distributors options and electronic components producers as well :
Jensen, Cinemags, Linear Intergated Systems, Texas Components Company Charcroft ( SemiSouth..in the past )
and bunch of new others ! Excellent :magnet: :treasure:

Seems to be a ok price on ebay (if you live in US). The Danish RS Component price 25% Danish tax will be added…..so 388 DKK for 1 = 55 USD. For 60 pcs one is 305 DKK = 44 USD.

Do professional company get 25% taxes money back or something..?
sorry me not expert but my friend is into private tech business so I can ask him at next time meeting.
Anyways Korg triodes are cute :spin:

I think a tech business will pay with tax included but they make a special tax account to keep track of all the taxes. If the company used the components internally they can twice a year get the tax back from the state…..something like that. The rules are probably a bit more complicated.

I can't get it back...….but I could make myself a little company and claim I used the components for business purpose....e.g. for selling a finished product. When selling the product I should claim 25% tax of that…..so it would go into the tax account as "minus"......I think…..so it depends on how much you buy and sell…….

To have a company you should show that there is some cash flow through the company…….if you start to "play" with the state and claim taxes back etc....but I think the control has been very limited…..

Get back taxes from 5 boxes of 60 pcs is a worth $omething :D
Me hobby amateur two Nutubes is plenty.
Wait I can show industrial "Bauhaus" Mean Well 24 V | 9.4 A SMPS for B1 Triode
Kindest regards

Hi guys, I'm thinking of ordering a board and tube from Pete's ebay store. Why, just want to try another buffer, I built the Mezmerize DCB1 buffer and its really nice! Could the Korg be better, only way to find out is to try one!
The main reason I'm using the buffer is that I load my DAC with 2 amps, HF amp has 100k input impedance but the bass amp is only 10k. The DAC designer recommends well over 10k, the buffer really does help the sound.

Read a lot of the posts here but didn't really see any discussing the audio virtues of this design. All I know is that if Nelson's had anything to do with it, it's gotta be worth a try.

So who's using one and how dos it sound??

Cheers

Preamp simulate SIT-1 and SIT-2 amp triode character, two vacuum tubes who "warm up" solid state amplifiers. Work fantastic with 20 dB of gain and dominant third H3 character of push-pull power stages. You get lot of questions answers and sound description in Mr Pass article http://www.firstwatt.com/pdf/art_nutube.pdf

and last year BAF talk, starting at 7 minutes 27

Tube amp power on self test

Tube amps could benefit from having an additional cheap circuit that tested the tubes goodness before connecting inputs and output relays. There could be three status lights , change tube, burn in tube, good tube. These amps should always ship with 5- 10 years worth of replacement tubes :), discuss and volunteer above circuit
