Thanks folks for the super useful pointers and advice!

I was looking for something for me to mess with while waiting for the more advanced SIT designs here to settle down. Generg kindly sent me some sims to help me scratch that itch!

Soooo... think something like this below is close enough to the tried and tested so that I don't go far off the reservation ..

DC coupled.. leaving open experimentation with a x-SIT and nfb

Some used SITs on the way from China so that will be another interesting thing to investigate !

Here is a curve for a similar setup, 37 Vds and 2.5 Amp bias:

Cool! Do you happen to recall the output impedance in your setup ?

So a DF of around 3 should work just fine for my JBL array 1400’s - their impedance hovers mainly between 6 to 8 ohms, so we’re talking about less than 1db of variation caused by the amps output impedance.

This single ended hulk is going to make a fine occupant for a large chassis obtained when we lived in HK.... A bit dusty and a few scratches but nothing that some spit and polish won’t erase

Anyone any ideas which smps to suggest ? I really like ben’s psu but I’m going to save that for an open chassis build later....

Yeah, all they need is a source, a pre and amp to make some lullabies!

Thanks for sharing these! I'll add the ones I've saved in my Downloads folder.

The first pic is a dual-die 2SK82, credit goes to Michael Rothacher iirc.

The second one is a 2SJ18 with its single die.
