It seems that I am about to build my liquid cooled Sony Vfet , finally


I need from you guys some info to do so , do the 2SJ313/2SK2013 need to be matched ?


are the TO3 IRF 240/ 9240 "better" in a way than the TO247 , fact is I would like to have them all TO3


well , I thing I will stick around for awhile , it's an serious build

No, matching is not required. I used the TO-3 's also in my VFET-X amplifier. It sure looks much better:
VFET-X (or my 1/3 40th Anniversary Sony VFET Clone)

But they measure the same as TO247, so no difference. They are a bit hard to find nowadays in TO-3.

btw, i have approx. 20mv an 100mv on the outputs and the amp sounds still excellent

hello everyone ,

do the IRF 240 and IRF9240 on both channel have to be matched ?

example : the irf240 channel rigt matched with the irf240 channel left and so on

I personally wouldn't bother. They are in the regulator section and 'mismatch' may give
you a small fraction of a volt diff in rail voltages at the vfets.
