Aleph J illustrated build guide

Aleph J Fuse Questions
I am trying to get the correct fuse for the live side of the switch. I am using the Schurter switch that comes with the back panel parts kit. A 2A fuse comes with the kit, in the Noob Guide, the suggestion is to use a 3A switch, when I try to calculate using the size of the transformer (mine is 250 VA), I get (250/120*2) approximately 4A. I am building monoblocks, so each transformer only supplies power to a single channel.
I also have a question as to how the fuses fit in the fuse holder on the Shurter switch. They are pretty difficult to insert and I cannot get the holder clip to go in as far as it does without a fuse. (Although it does seem to "click"). Here are some photos. Any thoughts?

Donut VA rating/mains voltage= fuse value

first go first smaller standard value; depending of soft start you're using - if it frequently pops, then increase for one standard step

now - inserting the fuse - there is really no other way than just to push holder in, when it's flush with case face, that's it

try it without fuse inserted in, you'll see

Thank you all for your tips. Here is an update. Zen Mod, thanks for the advice on sizing the amps for the fuse. As luck would have it, I broke the 2 amp fuse in trying to remove and reinstall it. Based on the formula, I will try 2 amps first and see how they do. I have ordered a few 2 amp fuses and a few 3 amp ones just in case the 2 amps blow on startup. I am thinking of shorting the neutral side so I only have to worry about one fuse.
I have been using the fuses that came with the back panel kit, I am assuming they are the correct size (the switch also came with the kit). In any event, I have ordered 5x20 fuses.
Thanks again for the help. I will report back after I receive the new fuses.

I bought the back panel kit almost 2 years ago. Woo that be considered new? I also bought a Schurter switch from Mouser at the same time for the other monoblock. They look the same. Interestingly, I took Zen Mod’s advice to insert my one remaining fuse (the 10 amp one) in the Mouser switch and it went in really smoothly. I will take it out of the Mouser switch and try it in the back panel kit switch and see if that works. If so, maybe inserting only one fuse is a lot easier and the idea of shorting the neutral side solves my problem.

On the other hand, the key may be just to take care to position the fuse well in the holder first, then insert. I think I had not been putting the fuse in the holder properly at first. Once I receive the fuses I just ordered from Digikey, I will let everyone know.

PROBLEM SOLVED!
Thanks to everyone who pitched in with suggestions. I tried the 10 amp fuse in the back panel switch (whether real Schurter or not I do not know, but it sure looks like a Schurter) using the Zen Mod method (see post 8,555) and voila! it slipped in as smooth as silk. I will try using two fuses when I receive my shipment from Digikey. In any event, I know I can do it with one fuse, I assume I can do it with two. Thanks again, Zen Mod.

Sorry, I took the pics but forgot to upload them. I think both sides (live and neutral) are fused.
