NOStalgia - the all-FET JLH/PLH Class A amplifier

Indeed. As I understood, it was just asked to take photos (which requires second pair of arms). It is my first Class A, so I'm not used with "normal" temperatures. Somehow, I'm for building everything bigger to leave enough room for whatever - maybe 2 x 1 Ohm, 5W in parallel will do. Anyway, thanks for pointing to datasheet, now it's clear even if it was always there in front of my eyes.

Changed the input transistor to ON J175-D26Z. I used some 480W IXIS mosfets as output. Couldn't get less than 800mV DC at output while the bias was 3A. No matter the dance between the pots I coudn't get better results. I don't know if I the only one with this issue... I meam the amp played and it played nice, but with to much DC to considet it safe. I'll drop this design and go maybe to original PLH, or DLH
