Pictures of your diy Pass amplifier

I use the tablesaw mostly for a nice flat tabletop since it's usually the only surface not covered with junk. But yea as above you can cut alu on the ts. I use a 60 tooth carbide blade. I don't slow the motor, but I slow the feed rate. Thick aluminum get's multiple passes, raising the blade a bit each time. This can generate a lot of heat.

This is what I do. I do not recommend others do it.

It can be dangerous if things go sideways. I protect myself well. It doesn't generate sawdust, but flying alu chips that always want to hit your face, and sting your arms.

But otherwise I have an ancient southbend lathe and a '70s import bridgeport copy. Both are loose enough to drive me insane :)

Did pretty much the same for the heatsink I made.... Normal tungsten wood blade with 12mm ali plate, generated a lot of heat!

A new BA-3 gets born

This is my first post in the diyaudio-forum. I will send a welcome to all you enthusiasts out there in this world! (perhaps I forgot a few ones on another planet? - also welcome!) I have built a lot of stuff the last 3 years. I was reading hundreds (if not a few thousands) of pages in this forum. I`ve learned and experienced so much! Thanks to Nelson Pass and his designs he offers to us! Thanks to all you experienced members giving such a lot of good advice (Wayne Colburn, ZenMod, 6L6, and all the others). Now I thought, that I should give something back. I can`t send you all a good bottle of red wine and nice rare JFets, MosFETs, VFets,.... But I will start with a few photos from my present projects. I have started to build my second BA-3 poweramp. The first one is awsome!

Some impressions:

My all in one Preamp

I am not new to the forum, but may my cat eat the login details of my old account so I build up a new one.
Since 3 years I was working on my pre-amp and now the first tone comes out of it.
It is a mixture of the XS-Preamp, Pearl2 and additional OPAMP based outputs for my Sub amplifier.
The 2 modules right at the middle are Pearl2s.
Still missing are the DC coupled UGS modules, but the connectors are already in place.
Up to know it was and is a long journey but absolutely worth to go.
Sound is great, very neutral, wide and detailed.

Achim
