Want to build PLH? but cannot find IRF244.

My dear DIY brothers,I Want to build PLH, cannot find IRF244.

But I can find IRFP264,IRFP250,IRFP240,IRFP234, could you tell me which one is the best substituted for IRF244?

I would use the IRFP240, however 250 and 260 would also work.

use whatever you have handy, but be careful about heatsinking and max dissipation

bigger packed ones are good for 35W dissipation and will last millennium like that , while smaller packet ones are good for , say, 20W

How about IRF640, IRF650?

Because the outline of the IRF640 is a TO-220 version, you must perform the mounting like the english company "Creek" by their amplifiers - go to the pictures about follow URLs:

Take a look at the irf520...low low input capacitance....nothing wrong with using to 220 devices. just pay attention to heat sink size....
