Another use for a P1.7

After buying a Zhaolu 2.5 AD1852 based dac i thought i liked the general sound character but wanted more. The 1852 has balanced voltage outputs so a P1.7 with some additional filtering seemed like a good idea for an all-in-one output buffer/preamp.

So, here is what's inside the box: A DDDac USB to I2S board feeds an 1852 followed by a first order low pass into a P1.7 with a slightly trimmed low pass at output and a shunt attenuator.

The sound improvement over the Zhaolu is quite dramatic. Of course the 1852 is compromised with the built-in opamp IV but after a month of listening i still think it's a very nice dac.
