48 VDC Power Supply construction ?s

Hey,

For a senior design project, I am needing a 48VDC Power supply for a bipolar stepper motor. What would the best way to desing this be. I am assuing a transformer, of about 120VAC->60VAC followed by a diode bridge, followed by some filtering capacitors and a voltage regulator. Could someone please check this, and possibly reccomend sourcing on some of the parts.

Yeah, that sounds about right..... 48volts.... how big is that stepper motor?? NOT 60volts AC... maybe 40volts..... maybe abit higher....
