Default Potentiometer replacement W100k?

OK, I expect a emocon in the reply...

but what does the "W" stand for on a W100k pot?

Is this correct too?:

A= audio taper

B= linear

I'm replacing some pots on some 1990's gear.

Thanks-a-watt,
