How do I avoid ordering resistors packaged like this in the future?

Those resistors remind me on the 1960's Japanese radio's were all the resistors where like that. I guess they did it to save room on the pcb although I cant remember the legs being coated.

I bought a hundred 1k resistors from CPC.
The blighters sent them individually with tape on each one !
Took about half an hour to de-tape them.
Bandilear-ed they take a minute to unpackage.

RS are probably worst for packaging, I put in one order and get 3 bags with different items in. They have numerous warehouses stuff comes from if out of stock elsewhere. Then they have bags within bags within boxes of stuff.
I wouldnt like their packaging bill.
