Good place to buy hook up wires?

Hello everyone,

New to the DIY scene, I was wondering what are some of the good spots to buy hook up wires to for your audio equipment projects? I hear silver plated teflon copper wires are pretty good, what gauge do you normally use and where do you get them? Thanks for sharing your opinions and ideas!

Three other surplus houses are surplussales.com of NB, electronicsurplus.com of OH, apexsurplus.com of CA
EFTE insulated wire is also resistant to burning, and easier to strip than teflon.
18 ga is good for output stages of >200 w PA amps, but middle stages work with 26 or 24, and input stage and tone controls can be 30 ga.

+1 on Apex jr.
He’s got it all! Stranded or solid core silver Teflon mil spec wire of every gauge and lots of colors.
The size you use is very dependent on where in the circuit it is. For power I use 18 minimum, for signal 22 or 24 is fine. For speaker connection 18 minimum.
