In search of Toshiba 2SC5200

IN SEARCH OF "GENUINE" TOSHIBA 2SC5200

I need a few 100% genuine Toshiba 2SC5200 transistors, in a TO-264 package (same as/similar to TO-3PL)

It will be replacing a failed Toshiba , Japan, 2SC5200, lot number 831, from around 10 years ago * See photo

Toshiba has a newer unit, different specs, in a smaller TO-3P ( aka TO-3P-3) package. I believe that it is not the same device and not a good match for the original. ( I prefer to use the original complimentary 2SA1943 that is installed currently)

It is not clear that even the large distributors can supply genuine and original Toshiba devices.

The level of counterfeit with this item is, I'm told, very high.

Mouser have a batch on order from Toshiba. I have just checked.

I have eight original, real, 2SC5200, but they are in storage. No guarantee when, but I will check my stock next time I am over there (and it isn't snowing). No idea the lot code, I don't record that in inventory, but the age is about right.

(And six A1943)
