I'm looking for a replacement capacitor marked as shown in the picture. Any help would be appreciated.

Its a funny looking thing, looks more like a sticky toffee tbh :D

My best guess would be 1uF 64V but I wouldn't like to hazard a guess at the dielectric. Some kind of switch suppressor maybe ? It all looks a bit mechanical around it.

See what the others think.

Some context would help: type of appliance, connection inside the appliance, etc.
Otherwise, it is almost certainly a wax-dipped paper type, but I would be much less certain about the 1µ/64V value.

Forums specialized in vintage equipments could probably provide answers just by looking at the pic

Swiss "Fribourg" capacitor, manufactured in January 1964.
On the other side of capacitor you should have its value and operating temperature.
And upper or limit freq. maybee.

I suppose it is 0.1uF/250V; 80`C; fo=1,6MHz.....paper or polystyrene.
