Hi
Need some input and help with replacement caps for my Alpine EQ 3342.
The problem was loud crackling coming through the equalizer.
I have replaced the power supply large caps with the original new series Nichicon as on the board (one had started leaking underneath hidden by glue), which has almost stopped the crackling. Still some noise coming through, and I am know tackling in replacing all the rest smaller caps.
Some caps are Nichicon VR(M) series which I have ordered, but the rest on the board have no series on them (see pics), just some codes A340, A332, e.t.c. which I assume are manufacturing dates. The pics are before replacing the big caps.
As I would like to keep the board as standard as possible, any ideas on which Nichicon cap series I should use? Should I use the Nichicon VR series (standard)?
Or, should I replace with higher quality caps from another manufacturer (Rubycon) for instance?
Would appreciate any input from the forum experts.
