Default ELMA switch.

When choosing an ELMA switch there are Shorting and Non-Shorting options.
(e.g. 2 Wafers 2 x 24 Shorting 15 and 2 Wafer 2 x 12 Non-Shorting 30)
I'm not sure I understand the difference.
Can anyone explain, please?

I wonder if this is different wording meaning make before break (shorting) and break before make (non shorting)?

When switching I got bad noisy clicks right into the speakers. Please, advise how this issue can be handled!

How are the outputs feeding the switch wired?
How are the inputs from the switch wired?

From input "hot" to Switch "in", input "ground" to Star ground point. Switch ground to Star ground point, Switch "out" via 100 Ohm resistor to grid. The Switch is wired according to Goldpoint V24 Stepped Attenuator Schematic
Mini-V Series Attenuator Schematic

I don't need your interconnect.
It's the output of the Source and input of the Receiver to the attenuator that matter.
Are they AC coupled or DC coupled?
Do either have grounding resistors to dissipate charge while the switch is moving between contacts.

If you have a make before break, the switch contacts should never be open. The noise suggests that either the Source, or the Receiver, or the switch are inappropriate to the duty.

DC coupled. No resistors. Switch is fine (MBB). Can you advise a grounding resistor position, please.

Maybe DC coupled is your noise problem

Show how your Source output and your Receiver Input are wired up.
