Pretty sure if you ditch the coiled wire strain relief, you can use the Canare F-10 RCA phono connectors. These are well-made and are available at a good price.

I like these and the SwitchCraft 3502AAU RCA phono connectors. However, the Switchcraft RCA connectors can have the "grip of death," which some people don't like.

Use thinner cable.

I'm serious. The cable is oversize for RCA. You can't need 9 mm. All those 'high-quality' connectors don't accept 9 mm. Which means everybody else is using thinner. Which means yours is too thick, or you're trying to use the wrong connector. Wrong connector==an easy way to get a poor quality result. Which I take it you're trying to avoid.
