Here i would like to post an idea of low cost stepped volume which can be
made 100steps
idea is to
1.convert rotary motion to linear giving ease of many steps
2.low cost parts to have a DIY solution for everyone
Here we can see a plastic gear pair attached to a fuze(gold plated,glued to lin rail),the fuze is used as wiper.The gear can be obtained from cdromparts or robot parts.
all contacts are made with a pcb header(gold plated) the pcb header pins will connect to metal film resistors ,whole assembly can be mounted on a pcb.
the holding pipe is spring loaded so linear movement causes 'click' sound when the wiper rolls to next contact.
