Mr Evil excellent vu meter,very nice. Especially the backlight LEDs in shades of blue and orange .
But double-sided board too much for me.

You could do it on single-sided board, but it would mean a larger PCB and/or lots of jumpers. You only said you wanted a schematic, so I assume you can design a PCB.
