Exactly...you have access to almost infinite variety and it's free....

And, I have to admit...I'm surprised at how good the better streams are. I have a few nice FM tuners but Albuquerque does not have any good stations or anything with a good signal so I have forgotten what a Mac MR-77 sounds like with a good signal....so I cannot make any good comparison.

In my younger days I worked at the #1 station in Phoenix, Arizona U.S.A. It soon became evident how media, $$$ and advertising driven that bis is. Like everything is today.
However, a few years ago, some old, affluent guy(only slightly older than myself) just went out and bought a radio station outside of town, set-up his own playlist and started broadcasting. Without any commercials or advertisers??? It is available on the www also:D

You most certainly mean the Swedish Radio at http://www.sr.se/

They seem to stream all channels nowadays. Choose "webbradio" in the menu on top. When you get up the player window, choose the tab "Välj kanal " and then either "P2 Musik" or "SR klassiskt" for classical music. P2 is mostly classical, but also jazz and folk music, and in daytime also some other types of programs. SR klassiskt is dedicated to classical music.

Recently, they have also started to make most programs available for 30 days after the broadcast. Choose "Lyssna igen" instead of "webbradio", then choose "P2 lyssna igen". Then you have to know what programs you want. You can probably understand some of the names, like "Opera Live" and that "Klassisk förmiddag" is classical music. Otherwise, I can help you with translations.

There is also a small archive of recent Mozart broadcasts at
