Thanks to that good French movie I discovered the Catalan / Spanish Jordi Savall, who triumphed years ago in France and other European countries.

One or two years later I went to a concert of his in one of the chapels of the Barcelona Cathedral, impressive.

The available recordings are far from the sound that was in the chapel.

I have more recordings of him, his wife (Montserrat Figueras) and different companions.

Returning to the film, the protagonist, Gérard Depardieu was at his best. I remember that it struck me a year earlier in Cyrano de Bergerac.

You Europeans are so lucky living not too far from all these amazing concerts with amazing musicians, all the time.

Just to name a few - Jordi Savall, L'Arpeggiata, Ensemble Aromates, Anouar Brahem, Jan Garbarek, the list can be soooo long.
How I would love to be able to listen to all these artists live.

I live outside Adelaide and last year flew to Melbourne (750km one way) to see Jordi Savall and Hesperion XXI.
It was worth every cent, once in a lifetime experience.
