Ginger Baker has died at age 80.
Cream really excited me when I "discovered" them in the late 60's. Only EC left now. |

In 1967, the juke box in my university canteen appeared to contain only one record - 'Sunshine Of Your Love' by Cream - which played continually, as if on a loop.
I wonder how Jack Bruce and Ginger will get on with each other in Rock & Roll Heaven? Here's a classic interview with Ginger from 1970. Ginger Baker: 'I’m not an easy person to get on with' – a classic interview from the vaults | Music | The Guardian |

Ginger Baker, the drummer for rock supergroups Cream and Blind Faith, dies at 80 - ABC News (Australian Broadcasting Corporation)
My favourite rock drummer, (Although he'd dispute that...), love the sound of his drums, his incredible timing

I never much followed Cream, was into other stuff from that era. A while back I caught a video concert from Albert Hall (?) and found myself totally transfixed and blown away by Ginger Baker specifically. I mean, wow! I immediately bought some albums and setup some streams. When I saw the post here the other day I listened to Cream all day in Ginger's honor. Rock on wherever you are, Ginger Baker! Respect.
