Wouldn't the analogue be more prone to being effected by electrical misdemeanours?
Isolate the PC from the DAC galvonicly (this includes noise...) and all you have is a digital transport system (which is all it is from the media storage to the DAC). You can then concentrate all your efforts on the DAC and subsequent analogue output.
 
Yes, it is the analogue portion of the replay path where the troubles arise ... isolation is the name of the game, but it's not always done to a high enough standard ...

Interestingly, there have been a couple of recent efforts on diyAudio where 'ridiculous' amounts of power supply capacitance were used with the DAC, with very positive, subjective benefits.
