It's a debatable point. In the context used for the title it refers to number seven in a series. Not a seventh of a whole. Now perhaps if you think of it as a seventh of a week, maybe.

Kay, you're right. Eight sevenths is a real stretch. But it's better then 14. The English language is funny and full of double meanings. Adding a "th" to certain written numbers can mean a fraction or a series string. So we now have one seventh of a son, poor fellow. But frankly I don't give a damn.
