I bet the first songs for many of us were Christmas Carols but that aside...

Who can really remember specifically the first music they ever heard?
Maybe someone who came from an undiscovered tribe in a Rain Forest?

Some of the first music I remember was TV music so....

Similar to Nantucket Sleighride.

Mine is my earliest recollection of a specific song.
I was about 4 years old when the album came out and our neighbour, whose kids I was friends with, kept it on constant rotation. Love In Vain is the only song I can remember from the album. Naturally, not being a native english speaker, it took me many years to find out the title of the song.

I also remember the 1st, 2nd and 3rd gig I've been to (CAN followed by a gap of around 7 years then Iggy Pop in November '77 and The B-52s in March '78. It gets hazy after that.) and the first album I bought: The Clash 'Sandinista' 4 weeks before I could afford a TT to play it on. I dug a trench for waste water pipes to get the cash.

I've been thinking but can't remember........Is it too personal for some or are we just too old to remember?......Have we got bad memories or does my idea suck?

Well lets see I am 59 years old. I remember watching the first Beatles concert on the Ed Sulivan show...That was nearly 50 years ago.... Before that my mother turned on the TV every time Elvis was on. Before that things are a bit fuzzy.....yeah I'll vote for too old to remember when I was about 4 or 5. So whatever Elvis hit was number one in about 1957 was probably it.

First record I owned....thats easy. Back in the early 60's they stapled a 45 RPM single onto the large bag of Fritos. Mine was the track listed above. First record I actually conned my parents into buying was Love Me Do by the Beatles.
