Can 0.25 cu. ft. cabinet be right?

Hey guys,

I attached a picture of the T/S parameters for a pair of AudioTechnology drivers I have. My initial findings are that a 0.25 cu. ft. would be optimum. I intend on using these as dedicated midranges so response below 100 Hz is not critical.

If anyone wouldn't mind confirming my initial findings, that would be great. Thank you.

Go to google, search for WinISD and download it. It will simulate your curves based on the TS params of the driver you enter.

I would do it for you but do not have those TS params on my install...

As a mid unit you could use anything from 5L well stuffed to 15L.

Low end rolloff might influence crossover slope - and remember that a lot of "stuffing" muffles the midrange; driver cant breathe

Seems to me 12 liter gives the most linear response

Have you dove into open baffle mid designs yet? I Chances are you will not go back to boxed up mids...

I have listened to an open baffle design and I liked it very much. To my ears there was a difference in presentation that I preferred with the open baffle design but I like the extra SPL one can obtain with sealed drivers.

I have a wide range of midranges I am building cabinets for as I wanted to make my own judgement as to what I liked. The OB route made this too difficult.
